A Linda Murphy Without a Country

Gentle Reader:

Kind of a quick one here, but it's worth the read. Here we go.

Well, we are

one week in on the Action Figure total control of the OKGOP, and it's been fairly quiet so far. But not completely quiet. Wayne Hill released his latest list and you legislators need to listen up and take notice: you all suck. And Wayne isn't going to stop there, he's taking you and his top lieutenants to the Capitol on May 21 from 1-3 so that they get the message that HE'S the Captain now, and the Legislature better fall in line, or else. No one really knows what the or else part is, since the Action Figures really don't have the power to do much, but that's beside the point. It's time to YELL again.

Speaking of the

Legislature, we've noticed a completely new tone in the Capitol with a new Speaker and new Pro Tem this session. It's refreshing to see Republicans, despite differences in priorities, not acting like four year old girls. It's remarkable what a leadership change can do, and we hope to see it continue next session. No, conservatives aren't getting everything we want, but we're certainly working toward more of what we want because we're working together. Now if we can just get the income tax cut in place (half and a path) we'll be in high cotton. OU got destroyed by Ole Miss last season, don't let the Mississippi Legislature beat us to an elimination of the income tax!

It has not been

announced, but it seems that Chairman Charity will step down from her post as National Committeewoman rather than keeping both seats. This is prompted by all of the positioning to run for her seat. Aiya Kelly from Logan County, Faith Campbell from Garvin County, and everyone's favorite fool Karin Hardin are all lining up to serve on the RNC. None of them are really qualified for the spot, but this is where we are in the life of the OKGOP. The State Committee will choose the replacement, so I guess we'll see who has the most swing there, but the guarantee is that this will be an eye-opening experience for whomever wins. You won't be in Kansas anymore!

The one bit of news that went unnoticed from Convention

is the approval of the OKGOP Purging Committee. It's actually called the "Adjudication Committee," but under this regime it will be used as a purging committee. "It shall be the responsibility of the State Adjudication Committee Purging Committee to review all information necessary to analyze discrepancies and complaints from county decisions" according to the new rule. Look, even traditional conservatives played with the idea of doing this in years past, but backed off of it because it's simply a bad idea. If the local counties really are the real authority like Wayne and Chairman Charity have touted over the years, it's a terrible idea to put in place a state-level group like this to second-guess local control, right? We aren't wrong here. What the Action Figures are doing here is opposite of what they have said for years because they are in control now. We'll see how this plays out, but the mob has spoken, and they want to control counties and purge unsavory elements.

Like a man without

a country, Linda Murphy just keeps on. She seems to fit the mold of an Action Figure, but they can't seem to stand her. She has a history of calling people RINO, so she doesn't fit with the more traditional conservatives either.  But her anti-Catholic rants are just growing and growing. As we said in our February 14 letter, she has a fundamental misunderstanding of the Constitution and the function between the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses of the First Amendment. She's at odds with this position even with Ryan Walters, Kevin Stitt, and her old boss Governor Keating. We recognize that we can't fix stupid, but the lady just needs to stop. Yesterday she announced on the Facebook that the new Pope somehow serve as a path Revelation 13 prophecy, and recently misunderstood the statements on James Madison.

Even Edward Piper has had enough. He went right at Linda on a Facebook post that included a link to his Rebellion with Dr. Edward Piper youtube show. You should look it up, it's pretty amazing. We'll restate what we said in that Feb 14 letter:

The Catholic Church has viewed education in a very serious way for most of its history. This is why the majority of the US Supreme Court is Catholic. They are smart people. Believe it or not, even smarter than Ryan Walters. You don't like the faith, that's your problem, but their educational outcomes are outstanding when compared to Oklahoma's 49th ranking. Maybe-just maybe-if us evangelicals in this state just looked up long enough and looked around to realize that we don't take education seriously, have too many damn school districts in this state, that none of them are actually competitively educating anyone, and that no one wants to bring jobs to this state (to Stitt's point about Walters) because we are a bunch of hayseeds and prove it with our Linda Murphys and Carrie Bertrands around here, maybe we could actually change some educational outcomes, bring good jobs into Oklahoma, and raise personal incomes. But maybe that would be bad.

It seems that one thing that unites Action Figures and Traditional Conservatives these days is Linda Murphy, so maybe she should stick around. Keep it up, Linda!

Have a great weekend,
